Surrounded by the Mt. Hood National Forest, The Resort offers a multitude of on-site activities, from golfing & croquet to relaxing in front of a roaring fireplace... from fly fishing to boutique shopping. There is also a fitness center, an outdoor swimming pool and a jacuzzi. Nearby fun includes summer skiing on Mt. Hood, mountain biking, hiking, birdwatching, go-cart racing, and whitewater rafting, to name just a few.

Q: Why not the famous Timberline Lodge (national landmark and filming site of famous movies)?
A: Not nearly enough guest rooms and meeting space.

Q: Why not the lovely Oregon Coast?
A: The Oregon coast, although very lovely indeed, can also be cold, windy, and foggy at this time of the year. Conditions don't normally improve until late August or September. Also, it takes several hours from the major airports to get to the spots on the coast that we would have chosen.

OBJECTIVES & MEETING SCHEDULE The theme is "Building Community" with an emphasis on the diversification of GIScience. MEALS Menus for common meals, coffee breaks, etc. The Resort is also the home to The Highlands Restaurant and "Quiet Bar." LOCATION/TRANSPORT The Resort at the Mountain is located at the western base of Mt. Hood, an hour from downtown Portland, Oregon. OREGON LINKS Weather, state parks, Northwest cuisine, traveller's aids, etc.
